The future of our remix contests.
We have decided to make some changes in the way we organize our contests. We have to, because the competition in (remix) contests on the web is stiff. There many alternatives, nearly every self-respecting label has (had) one or more of these competitions in the past and they can often offer more then we do. The decreasing number of people participating and the constructive criticism during our previous contest forces us to undertake action to see if we can get the remix contests rolling again.
So what to do next?
We need to focus on what we can offer and the other contests don't. By now we have had quite a large number of contests, but recently the time span for each contest was taking longer and longer. This resulted in a lose of interest. To regain interest we will from now on have monthly contests again.
The ability for people to choose from several tracks has always been one of our strongest points. It does not only generate a wider interest, it also gives a more interesting comparison.
One new thing to get you guys involved is that we will let you decide the tracks to remix. This month will be our pilot and if this is successful you may choose for your selves every month! So show us what you want to remix this month here!
Lastly, we have found a certain fashion brand (soon to be announced ;)) to sponsor the coming contest. They may be interested in sponsoring others as well, so let's hope many people will participate in our July contest!
